BBL Recovery Guide

The Brazilian Butt Lift makes it easier to get the curvy, round backside you’ve always wanted. This procedure is less invasive and doesn’t involve the risks of implants. It’s important to know that everyone will respond differently, and the best chance to get great results is to choose a qualified doctor to perform the procedure in a sterile operating room. Our BBL recovery guide has all of the steps you should follow to have a comfortable recovery and avoid disrupting your healing process.

A BBL with our Memphis team combines liposuction and fat grafting to remove fat from specific areas and make your booty perkier. It’s important to know that all of the fat won’t survive in the new location after a fat transfer. A few factors affect how much of the fat survives, including how much we transfer and skin tightness. Keep reading for helpful tips to follow during your BBL recovery!

Wear Your Compression Garment

After your BBL, you’ll need to wear a compression garment for two months. Your garment should fit tight, but comfortably. This garment works to tighten up the area where we remove fat without squeezing your buttocks to improve your appearance.

Eat Right & Exercise (But Not Too Soon!)

After your procedure, you’ll need to take it easy for a few days. Avoid driving, working out, and any other strenuous activities. Getting plenty of rest following your procedure will help speed the healing process and help the swelling go down.

After about two weeks, you can continue aerobic exercise, but avoid resistance exercises for legs and buttocks for eight weeks. If you don’t have one, getting into a consistent workout routine will help you maintain your BBL results. After your recovery period, focusing particularly on your legs and glutes to help keep the muscles in shape and your buttocks lifted.

The best way to help maintain long-term results from your BBL is to feed the fat! Eating a nutrient-rich diet will help keep your body healthy, and your results look fantastic. Keep a good balance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to maintain a healthy diet and weight. You should also drink plenty of water! Staying hydrated will help encourage healthy blood flow and keep your skin and body healthy.

Avoid Pressure on Your Buttocks

This is essential to get the best results from your BBL! Have someone drive you home from your procedure, so you don’t have to sit directly on your buttocks. Try not to drive for at least three weeks after your procedure to avoid squishing the fat and damaging the transferred cells.

Do not sit directly on your buttocks for three weeks after surgery. If you have to sit down, use the BBL pillow we give you after surgery to protect your behind.

You can sleep however feels comfortable after your BBL procedure. Sleeping on your back evenly distributes your weight, so there is nothing to worry about when it comes to sleeping during recovery.

Avoid Smoking

It’s important to avoid any smoking or vaping during your recovery process, even second-hand smoke. Tobacco has a negative effect on oxygen flow and slows down your healing process. Using tobacco products can even stop the transferred fat cells from establishing, leaving you with unsatisfying results.

Don’t Skip Any Steps

After your BBL, you’ll have some swelling that will go down over time. You’ll see the final results in your buttocks in three months and the areas where fat is harvested in six months. You might feel tempted to skip a few steps in the recovery process, please don’t do it!

We know you want to show off your results as soon as possible, and following these guidelines will help the recovery process much easier. Just remember that it’s only for a little while, and you’ll look and feel better than ever when you get to the end!
